Travel Log

We slept well in the new hotel and today it was a buffet style breakfast. The spread was great with fruit, meats, yogurts, breads, eggs.

Today we took the short drive to the base of Engstligenalp and caught the Globi (some sort of kids bird mascot) cable car. The route went up the waterfall to a large plateau. We paddled in the pools at the top of the waterfall (freezing!) and hiked to a great view of Adelboden valley. Back on the plateau we had amazing pizza, coffee and ice cream at the mountain hut while enjoying the fresh air. We even saw a paraglider land while we were there.

We were going to do another hike at the top of a different cable car but instead decided to have an afternoon of swimming. First stop was the public pool in Adelboden. This was unexpectedly excellent - it had diving boards, lots of floats, and the greenest and neatest grass anywhere. Plus of course the views of the mountains. We stayed for hours playing.

After a brief detour to the high street shops for some souvenirs and the kids playground we were back at our spa hotel for some more pool and spa action.

Our fancy pants dinner was Italian themed tonight, with Nick eating a whole mini octopus.
