Travel Log

We enjoyed a last buffet breakfast at our hotel before maximising our time in Adelboden by getting the cable car up to Sillerenbühl and following the Vogellisi walk down through the woods with some sort of play area every few hundred metres or so. This was good fun and we had the longest break at an immaculate mini chalet built for kids to play in. Locals were making full use of the BBQs by cooking bratwurst.

The last part of the walk was quite tedious, except for meeting a friendly cat, and our legs were tired now.

Back in Adelboden we bought some bread for lunch, and had gelato at the local gelateria. Himbeer for Thea, Zitrone for Bess and Erdbeer for Jasper.

The drive to Grindelwald was easy and pleasant, and we took a short detour to the Swiss Mountain Herbs shop to buy some herbs to take home.

When we arrived in Grindelwald it was absolutely heaving and trying to park to pick up our chalet keys and food for dinner was not fun.

We did manage to get some food from the Coop and hopefully can do without any other big shops now. In the evening we got to experience the quieter side of Grindelwald from our chalet on the hill with lovely views of the Eiger. Jasper watched Jurassic Park on DVD once we finally figured out how to work it.
